Where to Stay in Bangkok : Cheap Hotel in Bangkok

Image
Aside from the plane tickets (if you were unable to take advantage of the seat sales), the only other big chunk of your travel budget normally goes to the accommodations. When travelling within the Philippines and the purpose of our travel is to relax, we do not hesitate to allot more on accommodation. But if the main purpose of the trip is to explore and see as much places as we can, then we make ourselves ready to sacrifice comfort a bit and settle for something a little bit lowkey. We didn't actually have enough time to plan this Bangkok trip. Me and my partner had our minds set that we will go to Bicol. But two months before our planned vacation, change of mind and plans, we ended up booking a flight to Bangkok! So needless to say, we spent so much on our plane tickets hence, we needed to make sure that we won't spend so much in where we are going to stay. I have checked Agoda and everything is over our budget. Good thing I remember AirBnB! I started looking around

Bangkok Day 2 - Temple Tour

Image
Bangkok is known for its temples around the city but ironically, we didn't get to take much photos during our scheduled Bangkok City Temple Tour. It was unbearably hot and we just couldn't enjoy it. I thought we will be able to finish visiting all temples there are to see around the city, but nope, we weren't able to do so.   I suggest that you allot one whole day if you want to visit all the temples within the city. You might think that it's a lot of time just for the city temple tour, but believe me, you would want to take your time in seeing all the temples. As for us, we spent 5-6 hours with rests and all but we were still not able to visit all the temples in our list! But of course, looking at the brighter side, there will still be reasons to come to Bangkok one day! :) So here are some of the photos on our second day in Bangkok! First on the list of course is The Grand Palace, which by the way lived up to its name, SO GRAND! As much as we'd love

Bangkok Day 1 - Where is Chocolate Ville?

Image
When Bangkok gets mentioned, one would probably think about temples, pad thai, relaxing massage, night market, and maybe traffic as well! But cute places and park will not be on top of anyone's thought bubble. I, myself, was pretty surprised and stoked to find a pretty park to visit in BKK. This trip was my second time in Bangkok and even though I was still excited to re-visit the temples, I wanted to go somewhere different! So, what is Chocolate Ville? Where is Chocolate Ville?I stumbled upon a blog post about the said place and, I knew that we had to get this on our itinerary! It's a dreamy and pretty park. You do not have to shell out any money should you wish to just look around. Entrance is free! :) The park opens its doors to visitors at 4PM. It is best to be at the place at 3:30 PM so you can already start taking photos by this windmill and other pretty things before entering the park. I think we took more than 30 minutes just trying to take the pe

What To Do In Davao: Visit Eden Nature Park

Image
When in Davao, one thing that I suggest is to allot a day to visit and enjoy Eden Nature Park. Its95%man made forest. Man made because decades ago, in the early 70s, this part of Barangay Eden was a victim of illegal logging. What the Ayalas of Davao did was to restore it by planting trees and now, more and more people are able to experience a wonderful life in a forest.  We arrived at the park before lunch time. We decided to have buffet lunch first. Food was okay, notexceptional, but it was okay. What I loved most was one of the desserts, the Camote-Ube Float!  Although the buffet lunch was not exceptionally good, the view at their buffet area is really good! It's a glass type restaurant and the green view is amazing! It really feels refreshing there! After lunch, we had the chance to see the whole place. It is advisable to join the shuttle tour because it is impossible to see the whole place by walking, especially if you're beating the time! The shuttle

Magalawa Island in Zambales - 2016

Image
To kick off Philippines' Summer 2016, we headed to Magalawa Island in Palauig, Zambales. Travel time from Manila is more or less 5 hours, depending on your stop overs if you go there by a private car. Boat ride to Magalawa was quick. I think it was between 10-15 minutes. I did my research before going to the island. And yes, I have read about the feud between the two resorts in the island, Armada and Ruiz. The person in charge for reservation first inquired at Armada but they were fully booked already.  Since I did my research, I knew that I shouldn't expect much. I was looking forward to it, but definitely, I had my expectations set! So, we arrived at Ruiz, the staff are really nice. People are really helpful and kind. As for the shoreline at resort, I was not disappointed because, like what I have said, I knew what we're going to see. It would have been really better if there were no seaweeds. The water is really clear but the seaweeds are really annoying!  My

A Visit To The National Musuem

Image
One random day, me and my partner decided to drop by National Museum. It was my first time after 28 years of existence and it feels kind of bad.  We waited in line for more or less 15 minutes before we were able to be accommodated inside. They make sure that they don't have too much people inside. I was actually surprised that they don't charge entrance fee. It was nice sight that a lot of people are still visiting the National Museum.  I was really impressed how beautiful it is inside. Although some of the items inside are in need of cleaning, the whole place is really well maintained.  That's me in front of part of the Berlin Wall Stairs are sooo grand!  What I have noticed is how a lot of visitors did not seem to pay attention to the signs in front of the displays. 'DO NOT TOUCH' labels are pretty prominent but I have seen so many people touching the items on display.  We had really fun visiting the museum. It was just too bad that a

Where to Eat in Tagaytay: Marcia Adams' Restaurant

Image
This place is probably one of the most raved about restaurants in Tagaytay. I think it was 3 years ago when I first rad about Marcia Adams'. I haven't been to Tuscany, but I remember watching Under The Tuscan Sun and this restaurant, even by just looking at the photos, gave me that Tuscan feelzz. lol. What a blooper, I thought this door would lead us to the little Tuscany, but no. Good thing there were vegetable and pasalubong vendors who led us the right way. To be honest, I was not too excited about the food, I know that their menu has very limited options. I was more excited to finally see the place, in the flesh! The place was worth the wait. My kind of restaurant, my kind of place.   I wonder when did they start growing the plants there!   Who cares about the food when you've got this view while eating? That white house right in the middle of the field looks so lonely and pretty at the same time! From where I was sitting. The sunset set, this r
